Sacred Accord On Top In His Singapore Debut

3 minute read

The Mark Walker trained Sacred Accord creates plenty of interest in his Singapore when due to line up in the seventh event on Friday night.

Formerly trained in New Zealand under the care of Tony Pike, the son of O'Reilly only had the two starts, winning on debut, before finishing fourth prior to a break.

A promising type, Sacred Accord left New Zealand shores rated 83 by Timeform.

Lining up in the Class 4 event, he does appear well placed at the weights and he has trialled very well in the lead up.

Last seen at Tauranga back in November last year (349 days), Sacred Accord has had the two trials in the lead up, most recently scoring narrowly in good time (1:00.72).

Ridden aggressively to lead, he wanted to do a bit wrong, but found the line well under his own steam.

While unlikely to be at his peak first up, he strikes a very winnable race and has drawn to receive all the favours.

Quite tractable, suspect they will look to press forward, his win on debut was achieved when leading throughout.

The in-form Benny Woodworth legs aboard and with even luck in the straight, he is expected to be very hard to get passed.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear and has been given every chance by the handicapper.

The Stephen Gray trained No Fun No Gain was tested against Singapore's best 3YOs last preparation and while unable to measure up, he is much better placed in this line up.

He has won two of three attempts first up and his most recent trial was very good behind subsequent winner Surpass Natural.

Leading rider Vlad Duric takes over and he is sure to make his presence felt.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Galaxy Star wasn't beaten far in his Singapore debut and with further improvement expected, he has to be respected.

Formerly trained by Team Snowden, he is more than capable on best form and cannot be taken lightly despite the awkward draw.

Of the rest stablemate Lincoln Moonlight appears the pick of the rest.

A model of consistency, he has placed in eight of 11 attempts and is expected to run well again from the inside draw.

Good luck and happy punting.
