Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on February 20.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Grafton, Pakenham, Warrnambool, Townsville, Geraldton & Kingscote.
Pakenham Race 7 @ 9:00pm
Cheptegei can lead and expect Baileys to race handy. NECESSARY (2) won at this level going away and then was beaten 1.3L at Caulfield in much stronger than this. Needs a good ride from the claimer but she looks the one to beat. KISS AND CRY (6) resumes and is also promising. He draws the rail and has had a trial warmer. Two time winning rider Nolen is booked and her return is likely to be sharp. KING TYCOON (11) is an improver in good hands and also deserves consideration. SELECTIONS: #2 Necessary goes in the slow and this is winnable. Expecting that #7 Sealed will go well too in the previous race.

Kingscote: Race 3 @ 2:25pm
Splash Some Cash and Watch Dat Stinger can run them along. BLINKY O'REILLY (7) won from the speed at Strathalbyn before placing heavily-backed at Gawler. The claimer can stalk from the low gate and he’ll go close on the quick return down in the weights. SPLASH SOME CASH (1) is the danger back in grade off two good provincial efforts. Four winners have come out of the latest. SUPERVELOCE (3) ran his best race winning the 58 comfortably at The Bridge and that gives him a chance. CITY BEATS (5) has claims on the Gawler win two back. SELECTIONS: #7 Blinky O’Reilly gets the nod reaching peak.
Grafton: Race 4 @ 3:10pm
Daramer, Allied Invasion and Globite's Jayar will inject plenty of early pace into the race. ALLIED INVASION (6) looks close to a win. Led and was only collared close to home over 1530m at Murwillumbah last start. Blinkers off for the step up in trip. Will race on-pace and be tough to catch. ZAVY'S HOPE (13) did a good job in the run home to be beaten just a length over 1530m at Murwillumbah last time out, 0.7 lengths shy of Allied Invasion. On trial at the trip but looks up to the task. DARAMER (2) returns five days after an inglorious effort at the Gold Coast over 1800m on a bog track. Form before that was solid. The decision to back up must be respected. MISS PIERPOINT (11) hasn't threatened in two runs to date but getting to this trip could be the key. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #6 Allied Invasion.
Warrnambool: Race 5 @ 3:55pm
Hard to say who leads but expect a solid tempo. Maybe China Plate. ROMAIYA (4) peaks now and probably should have won the latest at Benalla running favourite. Has more to give and is sure to go close. DASHING TYCOON (5) is better than the formline suggest and he lead and fought on gamely here 16 days ago in stronger. Allen rides in preference to the above replacing the apprentice. Back 300m shouldn’t bother. BERRY DANGEROUS (6) improved again missing 1L this trip at Geelong. That reads well but the 2kg claimer needs some luck pushing forward from the wide gate. IRISH DELIGHT (9) seeks the hat-trick and her figures stack up. SELECTIONS: A tough program. #4 Romaiya looks a solid bet.
