Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 31.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Grafton, Newcastle, Mornington & Mackay.
Mornington: Race 7 @ 4:30pm
Hafaawa, Design Rouge, Reactora and Stage Front all capable of injecting pace. HAFAAWA (11) resumes. Was spelled after pulling up with the thumps at Pakenham in January. Prior to that had not run a bad race through six career starts to date. KOOTARA (14) finished among the placegetters last start when second at Pakenham Park over 1200m. Knocking on the door. CANELO (16) ran a 2 length sixth at Swan Hill last start. Comes here with definite claims. FLORENT (15) finished third last start, beaten 3 lengths at Sandown-Lakeside over 1600m. Worth keeping safe. DESIGN ROUGE (2) looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. SELECTIONS: Hafaawa promising. Back accordingly.

Newcastle: Race 1 @ 12:05pm
The scratchings take the early pace out of this contest. PERFECT IMPRESSION (9) caught the eye when resuming over 1200m at Warwick Farm last start, closing from well back on the turn to get up for 3rd. Up sharply in distance but drops 3 kgs after the claim in an easier race and is bred to run the mile right out. KIRWAN'S LANE (4) warmed to the task late when runner-up over 1300m at Kembla recently. Only beaten 1.2 lengths by the stakes-placed Aspect Ratio over this trip last prep. Big chance on that form. CROWN AFFAIR (2) strips fitter second up and can improve out of the inside stall. Big gap to the next best PELLEZZANO (8). SELECTIONS: Confident #9 Perfect Impression can get the job done.
Mackay: Race 6 @ 3:50pm (AEDT)
ONLY WANNA SING (1) is in good form. Performed well last start when third at this track over 1300m and scored at Rockhampton two back. Expected to go close. TA CHANSON (3) hasn't been far away at his past couple and scored here three back. Has a good record at this track. Contender. DANCING TYCOON (7) will be fitter second up so looking for an improved showing. DJEBEL READY (8) is another better for one run from a spell. SELECTIONS: Looks the right race for #4 Olympic Oath.
Grafton: Race 8 @ 5:15pm
Julianne's Wish and Degrasse to vie for early honours. ARCALETTE (6) caught the eye when resuming from a five-month spell over 1200m at this track last start, making plenty of late ground to finish just behind the placegetters. Won over 1530m second up last prep so the step up in distance today will see sharp improvement. ROGUE MISSILE (1) settled back in the field and boxed on fairly to be beaten 5.2 lengths in open company over 1206m at this circuit last time out. Fitter third up today, down in grade, and looking for this trip so can figure prominently. UNLEASH THE RED (3) returns from a 109-day break. Will be better over more ground later in the prep but he loves Grafton so while fresh is a nice each-way option. JULIANNE'S WISH (9) draws a better gate this time and can improve. SELECTIONS: Very keen on the chances of #6 Arcalette.
