We are starting group racing into the Adelaide carnival.
Our best isn't in the main races as Charossa heads back to Adelaide after a good run in Melbourne.
He was given a good hope in that Caulfield race and found the line well into second. That was after placing in the CS Hayes Memorial.
In a much inferior race to recent ones, he does have to carry more weight although he has been lumping a bit of late anyway.
We should see decent speed over the mile and his strength late will be an important factor.
Over to one of the group races on the day with the fillies preparing for the Australasian Oaks.
This Auraria Stakes is an open one so we will play some value with Vegas Jewel now second up.
She simply got too far out of her ground resuming in the Bendigo Guineas and the 1400m of that was far too short.
Her breeding suggests this sort of trip is more positive and given her Ethereal and Wakeful efforts, that seems to prove it.
From the gate and in this size field, she will get back but the speed will be enhanced by that. We should get near double figures on the day.
