We are one week away from the Group 1s in Adelaide but this is a good program.
Recently we saw Dalasan show his true self getting back into 3yo company and he can repeat the dose in the Chairman's Stakes.
Coming off his superb run in the All-Star Mile, he loved stepping out to 1800m and on breeding alone, another furlong this weekend can only benefit.
From the luxury of a soft draw, Jason Holder can put him right into the race from the jump and from there he will have plenty of real estate between himself and the other main chances.
In all likelihood he can dash at the 400m while the Victoria Derby winner Warning will be negotiating traffic given his gate.
This may not be so evident in the South Australian Derby but it sets up well this week.
In the race before, the City Of Adelaide Handicap is at Listed level and that is a lovely proposition for Waging War to return to the winner's list.
He was highly consistent all last campaign at home then headed to Melbourne and ended up running favourite in the Toorak Handicap.
Not that far off the winner in that, he can bring that form to an Adelaide race and use his barrier to advantage.
There looks to be decent speed engaged and he can be the first one to make the move after doing no work. We should get that each way price.
