The Roma Cup is the main race on the card as we close in on the end of the Ascot season.
It is an excellent running of the Cup with several G1 winners entered and some looking to recapture that old form.
Have a suspicion the mares will be big players here and one of them is Angelic Ruler.
She had a top Spring in Melbourne including three straight placings at group level.
After heading home, she got back to her best three weeks ago when drawing clear late.
While she is back a furlong now, that fitness is only going to help and there is clearly no drawback having William Pike up. In fact that fitness advantage looks the biggest bonus the mares have.
The saying always be wary of the unbeaten horse is one to note in Race 4 as Mood Swings comes to town.
This colt debuted at Bunbury over this journey and sat forward from the jump. Once he got going he put a gap in them.
No doubt it is a bit different coming to Saturday company but this is hardly a strong race and the favourite herself has been mainly midweek racing, where she was beaten out of the placings when very short last outing.
From a lovely draw Mood Swings can be put right into the race immediately and should be in the finish somewhere.
