Never has a truer word been spoken in regards to the Chris Waller trained Overlord.

While I generally would avoid making a 2YO my best bet of the day (no doubt Gary will call me into his office after reading this), Overlord has the form that ties in beautifully with the narrative.
An eye catcher late on debut behind Ocean Emperor, he proceeded to take a good step forward last start, when again a strong closer.
A key sectional mark up, he gets his chance to turn the tables on Peltzer now meeting him 2kg better off.
Unlike Peltzer, Overlord ran his race inefficiently over 1200m, giving every indication he will relish the step up to 1300m.
Ridden conservatively from the wide draw at his first two starts, he is expected to settle a lot closer on Saturday, another key factor which can see him turn the tables.
The much in-form Hugh Bowman sticks aboard (he rode Red Tracer to three of her 15 career wins) and is currently striking at 20% from his last 50 rides.
While it is far from an exact science as to whether he will handle the heavy track, I'd be quite surprised if he didn't.
Waller notably used this race as a springboard to the JJ Atkins with The Autumn Sun (same weekend - held over 1400m) and with all going well, Overlord should prove hard to beat on Saturday and hard to beat in two weeks time.
Sticking with the Chris Waller stable and keen on perennial placegetter Dealmaker.
Having only notched up two wins from 24 starts, he has placed on 12 occasions including four nose seconds.
Had just half of those results fallen his way, suddenly his record looks quite solid.
Only narrowly beaten two back behind Rainer, he again proved game in defeat when narrowly edged out behind Grand Piano.
Parked on the latter's back coming into the straight, he just got left a touch-flat footed before really picking up late, second best L400m & quickest L200m of the day (in hindsight probably should have won).
His two career wins have both come with the sting out and he's drawn to settle a touch closer with Avdulla legging back aboard.
The expected solid tempo should play into his hands and with clear air in the straight, he should be very strong late.
