We really are heading into the Winter racing period now and so the local depth is weak.
With that in mind, happy to take a horse from interstate as the best in the shape of Lombardo.
Few stables are going better than the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr team and this 3yo is ready to win.
He won on debut and then resumed with two runs on wet tracks in Victoria. The last one was a Saturday race against some solid 3yos and he found the line nicely.
The added furlong can only benefit him as he gets a superb runs just off the speed.
He also gets the blinkers on now and that suggests he's ready to peak. A bit surprised that he is not shorter in the market.
We go over to the last where Stan The Caddy is an each way play despite drawing wide.
He is bred to want more ground but there should be very decent speed engaged in what isn't a strong race.
A previous winner at this track, he will be much better suited if the surface improves back toward the Good range.
You know he'll be working home hard back into an easier rating race.
