The Belmont Guineas is the main race on the Perth program this Saturday.
When a result seems too obvious you should be wary but it is hard to see how Kay Cee can have the tables turned on her in the Guineas.
We thought Laverrod would have had the fitness edge last time out in the Raconteur Stakes but the filly was just too good late.
With more fitness herself and the extra furlong, that can only play into her hands.
Really, unless she has become too dour inside a fortnight, which is hard to imagine, she can only go forward with the weight change too.
She meets the main danger now 2.5kg better off with this race back to Set Weights.
We'll take the G1 winner as the first leg of a double. Look out she isn't considered a show later in the year in a rather large 4yo only race.
The following race sees another up and coming filly take the stage with Bright Diamond looking to remain unbeaten.
Both runs have come here and she has closed off strongly both times – the last one coming from last.
Sure they have been midweek level races but it was both the manner of the wins and the likelihood that they were just to gain good experiences.
Those efforts came from wider gates but this time she draws in so can take up a more forward position.
The fact she is meeting a few recent winners should mean we at least get a decent price for the second leg of the multi.
