Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 1.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Sandown, Doomben, Belmont & Balaklava.
Randwick Kensington: Race 5 @ 3:10pm
The scratchings leave the way clear for Tochi to take up the running. SECRETLY (11) has looked good in both runs back from a spell. Built upon a closing fourth at Kembla Grange with a third to Lando Bay over this trip at Saturday level last start. Will be fitter again third up and is proven on rain affected ground. Is a half to Thronum who thrived in the wet. SAVIGNE (10) was a strong winner at Canterbury last start on Heavy ground. Was ridden more positively on that occasion and appeared to thrive. CHOCOLATIER (2) is worth thought back in grade. Won on heavy going at Canterbury two back. PICARO (6) profiles as an improver with a class drop and distance rise third run from a spell. SELECTIONS: Straight out Secretly.

Balaklava: Race 4 @ 2:25pm
Party Maid may run the field along. PARTY MAID (12) has placed 6/9 and was just beaten in a city Maiden 11 days ago off a wide gate. He will ride the speed today from the rail and the Stokes-trained filly is clearly the one they have to beat. ARCTIC FLORA (8) has placed the last two at Gawler without getting the best of it. She's running out of chances, but can make the finish. DOUBLE BLUE (14) is up to this and has looked in need of racing. He needs a good ride, but it wouldn't surprise to see him improve today. MONRAAJ (4) resumes off two near-misses and has placed 2/3 fresh. Draws low and is a definite player. SELECTIONS: #12 Party Maid gets her chance in this line-up.
Sandown Race 8 @ 4:30pm
Melarita can lead from the low gate and might not get too much pressure over the middle distance. A good contest. MISS DAMITA (3) has placed both runs back and was favourite here the latest at 1800m. She has strong figures at this trip and can win today for the sharp yard with the handy 3kg claim. SHAHZADE (1) is also in good hands and has just missed the last two heavily-bet in stronger grade. The 2kg claim brings her right into it and she's feare. MELARITA (6) is up in grade third-up bringing two wins both as a hot favourite. She's had a freshen and draws to control the race. John Allen rides first time with a weight drop and she can keep improving for Maher-Eustace. LUNAR FLARE (11) is improving and comes back to the grass. Gets the low gate and Oliver and can fill a slot. SELECTIONS: This is a suitable progression for #3 Miss Damita.
