Hotshots Slam To Strike Fresh

The Shane Baertschiger trained Hotshots Slam possesses just the sole win to his name, however he has displayed good ability and appears well placed on Saturday afternoon.

Due to contest the third event, Hotshots Slam gets his chance down in the weights off the back of an eye catching trial.

Ridden by Harry Kasim, Hotshots Slam began well on the outside and pressed on to settle third, travelling well throughout.

Clicked up approaching the turn, he strode up to the lead three-wide, taking over inside the 200m under his own steam.

Drawing clear to score by two lengths, he appears in fine order and has drawn to receive all the favours.

His sole career win came when on debut and his only effort at this trip saw him narrowly beaten, when forced to do a fair bit of work early.

Love backing three-year-olds against the older horses at this time of year and he notably gets the tongue tie on for the first time.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears very well placed and should also appreciate racing on the polytrack.

Just needs his fair share of luck and he should prove hard to beat.

The Desmond Koh trained Moongate Star continued to race well last preparation and he too has trialled well in the lead up.

Only missing the money once in six starts, he is rarely far away, just a query where he gets to from the wide draw.

Likely to settle back in the field over 1000m, he may give Hotshots Slam too big a start, but still should be very strong late.

The Mark Walker trained Hadeer creates plenty of interest in his Singapore debut.

A winner of one of his eight starts, he has placed on a further four occasions when formerly trained by Team Hayes and Dabernig.

Given three trials in Singapore, two most recently, he should be fairly forward and while clearly better over further, he can sprint well fresh.

Of the rest the Donna Logan trained Gamely appears the next in line.

While only winning one from 23 starts, he has placed on a further 14 occasions and shouldn't be far away with the added aid of the claim.

Good luck and happy punting.
