Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 24.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Tamworth, Swan Hill, Ipswich, Carnarvon & Canberra.
Canberra: Race 5 @ 2:40pm
Plenty of on-pacers engaged and they should run along over the mile. OAKSASTAR (11) was okay resuming for Team Snowden and then was heavily-bet at Goulburn coming home like a train after meeting trouble. She gets Clipperton and the blinkers applied again and a soft run from the rail. She drops 3.5kg under the race conditions and has more to give. LORD DESANIMAUX (2) keeps putting-in and was just beaten here twice before finding one too good at Nowra coming back to this trip. He will get a soft run racing forward and deserves a win. TAPICONIC (4) has been knocking on the door for a leading yard and comes back a couple of levels in grade. He races at the mile for the first time and it's sure to suit. Keep him very safe. COSMIC KING (5) is a Waterhouse-Bott improver drawn well and sharp improvement is on the cards. POLIZIOTTA (12) won the Maiden here two-back and comes to peak now. Her best Victorian run over this trip would have her in the finish. SELECTIONS: A sense of timing about #11 Oaksastar.

Swan Hill: Race 3 @ 1:30pm
Elongated from the low gate and Wardy Boy from out wider can run them along. LEGEND OF ZORRO (4) has been threatening and missed a lip at Moonee Valley 12 days ago as favourite. This is much easier and a leading hoop will give him a soft on-pace run from the rail. He can go one better in this line-up. YULONG SONG (6) brought strong form to resumption and got caught wide as favourite. He has plenty up the sleeve and the mile suits. He's a danger with Stackhouse going on. Team Hayes stablemate BLADNOCH (1) has placed the last three on the synthetic and gets some gear changes today. He gets a good gate and is a hope back to the grass. KOGI LASS (12) is in a form yard and has needed the two runs back. She won't be far away. SELECTIONS: #4 Legend Of Zorro is well-suited and should be winning.
Ipswich: Race 4 @ 2:25pm
Remember Bella has the pace to cross and lead. GLOBAL CHOICE (7) made it three minor placings from three runs this prep when she worked her way clear at the furlong and closed stoutly to be beaten a long neck over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast last start. Quickened nicely on the soft track that day so she holds no fears in the conditions. Has had plenty of chances but although coming back in trip this looks a nice race for the mare. B'DAISY (6) started warm favourite but struggled in heavy going first up over this distance at Toowoomba. Finished 2nd over this trip at the Gold Coast when second up last prep. Worth another chance but wouldn't want the track to deteriorate beyond a soft reading. PURE DEAL (4) showed pace but tired late to finish 4th over 1350m at this track a month ago. Lightly raced gelding with winning claims off the freshen-up. REFLECTIVE (5) is a lightweight chance on the back of a couple of recent placings. SELECTIONS: Not much depth to the form - #7 Global Choice will never get a better chance to break through.
