Sydney Specials: Rosehill - 29th August 2020

3 minute read

Danger, danger for anyone betting at Rosehill tomorrow, it has trap written all over it.

Across the nine race program, four favourites line up off a heavy track run, while three are first up.

How you weight these last start performances is the real challenge, I would lean to being more forgiving of failures, as opposed to being positive on victories.

The Maher & Eustace trained Anders the prime example, currently installed the $3.40 favourite in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes.

A dominant winner in the Rosebud, the clock certainly backed up the visuals and sees him well placed tomorrow with the fitness edge.

He looks to lead for McDonald and it's very easy to see why the market has gravitated towards him.

I get it, but I want to be against him on a firm track, it has just gone all too well for him his last three starts and under a different scenario tomorrow my lean would be towards both Peltzer and Doubtland.

The Kris Lees trained Mugatoo couldn't have been more impressive in his return and looks the good thing of the day in the Premiers Cup.

While I've band myself from using the 'M' word, it seems very fitting.

Successful in running a new peak in the Winter Challenge, he is back better than ever and love the set up, kept fresh (35 days) with a soft trial in-between.

The only danger looks to be the low draw, would hate to see him hemmed away on the inside with nowhere to go.

Trust in McEvoy to weave a bit of magic and with clear air, he simply should be too good.

He looks very well placed at the weights and I have marked odds-on, it's time to bet up!

In the third event, happy to play both Nicochet and Cisco Bay at the double figure odds.

Both horses come through races won by market leaders, Not Feint Hearted and Badoosh.

Nicochet notably meets Not Feint Hearted 6kg better off and should be much better suited on top of the ground.

Cisco Bay started $4.50 to beat Badoosh ($3.80) last start and while safely held in second, he didn't have the clearest passage and now meets him 3kg better off.

McEvoy takes over and the gap between them ($4.60 Vs $20) is too big.

Simon Dinopoulos' Three Tips:

Race 3 #9 Nicochet @ $15 & #6 Cisco Bay @ $20

Race 7 #4 Overlord @ $2.60

Race 8 #3 Mugatoo @ $2.25
