Racing returns to Ascot for the first time on a Saturday.
It is never a bad ploy to back the pink and white somewhere on a Perth card and the best play of the day is another of those with Truly Great resuming.
This gelding does kick off at the mile but that is a great thing given he is by Dundeel.
He showed his best form once at this journey including the win to end the campaign in July at 2200m.
These staying types are best not to have runs wasted so start at a competitive distance and he is down on the limit as well.
It is easy to fancy these progressive types.
There is a small field in Race 3 over the staying trip and every horse is given a chance. One near the biggest price in the field is He's A Parker and he is a fascinating runner.
Third up he goes straight from 1200 to 1600 to the 2200m of the Amelia Park Handicap.
While he has top weight, the reason is he has contested and run well in better fields including placing in the Pinjarra Cup and WA Cup.
Only beaten under two lengths two weeks ago, you can imagine him sitting a few lengths off them in running and having last call on the leaders.
Sad we can't back him each way with only seven runners but the price seems very generous.
