Sydney Specials: Kembla Grange - 21st November 2020

3 minute read

Heading into Kembla Grange with a bit of momentum and fairly confident we can keep it rolling.

The John O'Shea trained Intrepidacious has been kept on ice and looks well placed to go back to back in the sixth event on Saturday.

An easy winner first up at Warwick Farm, Intrepidacious has been scratched twice since with O'Shea waiting patiently for a dry track.

As a result she heads into Saturday with 45 days between runs, but has been kept ticking over with two trials, most recently coasting to the line at Randwick last Tuesday (10/11).

Being the race fit horse it was no surprise to see her run the quickest time of the morning, some ~9L faster than Big Parade, even still, she looks to be airborne.

The O'Shea stable is striking at 21% from his last 350 runners and is certainly humming at present.

King sticks aboard and while drawn out, she should be able to slide across with fellow on-pacer Stolen Jade.

Of her first up win she rates clear (weight adjusted) and while up in grade, she looks very well treated.

We have her running up to a mark of 85 last start (OHR), but finds herself off a mark of 78, she looks to have snuck under the handicap's guard on our ratings.

Current favourite Macroura was solid enough fresh and looks to get a lovely run on the map, but will need to improve to get to her level.

Could also be a query on a dry track, it is hard to be to definitive as Macroura has only seen a dry track once, but all her form is with the sting out.

Have marked Intrepidacious favourite and with even luck, suspect she will be very hard to beat and a great bet at around 4-1.

The James Cummings trained Destination disappointed in the Brian Crowley, but looks very well placed back in grade on Saturday.

Like him kept fresh (28 days) and he should be aided by the drop back to 1000m.

He is unbeaten at Kembla (2/2), is better suited back on top of the ground and both career wins have come over this trip.

Hugh Bowman legs back aboard and he's drawn to get a lovely suck run on the inside (pending of course he gets out).

Rates clear on best form and when your main market danger is Hulk, you can fairly confident Destination will be very hard to beat.
