The David Kok trained Real Efecto only went down narrowly first up and looks well placed to break through at Singapore on Saturday.
Due to contest the second event, Real Efecto gets out to the mile for the first time and looks very well placed from the inside draw.
Only lightly raced, he has placed in two of his four starts and did return a new career peak behind Prosperous Return.
Since kept fresh (35 days), he has trialled well, finding the line nicely under Vlad Duric who takes over on the weekend.
Having led first up, wouldn't be surprised if Duric elects to take a sit, similar to what he did in his latest trial.
Either way, he can park him wherever he sees fit and if the lead is up for grabs, I'm sure Duric would take it.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear off his first up run and if able to repeat, he is sure to take plenty of beating.
The Shane Baertschiger trained Marine Vanguard only went down narrowly last start and could look to settle closer from the inside draw.
A noted back-marker, he has often left his run too late, but now draws a gate for the first time in four starts.
He has placed in two of three attempts on the polytrack and while on trial at the trip, he gives the impression the step up in trip should suit.
On best form he still has a bit to find to beat Real Efecto, however he still shouldn't be far away and looms as a major threat.
The Tim Fitzsimmons trained Ace Sovereign caught the eye late first up and with further improvement expected, he has to be included in the main hopes.
While yet to place in five starts, he has still shown fair ability and the step up to the mile should suit.
The stable is going well and with Powell aboard, he has to be included.
Of the rest, stablemate Super Atas appears the best of the rest.
