Everest All Class At Kranji

3 minute read

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Everest appears very well placed to return to the winner’s stall at Kranji on Sunday.

Due to contest the fifth event Everest plummets back in grade and simply should be winning.

Only lightly raced Everest won well on debut before narrowly beaten at his second start behind Strong N Smart.

Thrown in the deep end at his next two outings he finished third behind Tiger Roar in the Group 3 Singapore 3YO Sprint before finishing sixth in the Group 2 Singpoare 3YO Classic.

Since freshened (35 days) he should appreciate the drop back to 1200m and hard not to love his latest trial.

Ridden by Danny Beasley (who sticks on Sunday) he sat three-deep throughout and while asked to extend in the straight he put them away in a few strides.

Surprisingly steps out onto the polytrack for the first time but did trial well on the surface and should have no concerns.

From the wide draw Beasley has plenty of options and is expected to ride him wherever he is comfortable.

Does line up against a few lightly raced types but looks to have them covered and with even luck he should be very hard to beat.

Stablemate Renzo won well on the turf track last start and shapes as the main danger.

Stepping out for just his third start Renzo has displayed good ability and he too comes into this on the fresh side (43 days).

Given a soft trial in the lead up he can take a forward position for Kok and with further improvement anticipated he should be in this for a long way.

The Tim Fitzsimmons trained Illustrious is still a maiden after four starts but was a clear eye catcher behind the former last start and has to be included.

Having made a mess of the start he was unable to bridge the gap but has since won a trial very impressively when leading and can bounce back in a big way.

Of the rest the Mark Walker trained Speedy Missile appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
