Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Cranbourne, Albury, Port Macquarie, Benalla, Cloncurry and Sunshine Coast.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 7 @ 7:45 PM

IMPECUNIOUS (2) settled well back from a good draw last time before running on solidly to finish fifth, beaten 2 lengths, over 1600m in the G2 Stocks Stakes at Moonee Valley. Won't find this as tough and the step up in distance is ideal. Sure to feature. MAHASHAKTI (3) wound up strongly to finish just half a length adrift in third over 2046m in the Benalla Cup last time out. Form at this distance is strong with two wins from three starts. Among the leading chances back against the girls. JOHANDOUGH (6) finished midfield last start at Flemington when fresh from a 21-week spell over 1630m. Has a solid record at this trip and her second up form reads three placings from four runs. Right in the mix. HUNBOSHI (1) wound up late and finished third last time over 1800m at Sandown-Hillside. Getting better at each run this prep and she will be hard to hold out over an extra furlong this evening. The ultra-consistent SWINDON LASS (9) just missed at the Valley last Friday. Sure to run well.
SELECTIONS: Keen on #2 Impecunious to win the feature.

ALBURY: RACE 1 @ 1:05 PM

SUMDEEL (4) looks hard to beat here. Was first up after lengthy spell (180 days) last start when flashing home strongly for second. Will appreciate the jump up in distance, handles the slow/heavy going and Loy remains in the irons. Best bet. TWIG (6) has been well in the market at both starts to date. First-up second placing was followed by an impressive last start victory. Will be fitter for second go this distance and should relish the heavier conditions. Biggest danger to top selection. REVELLERS (7) is the likely improver. Was first up (146 days) for his new stable when finishing fourth and not beaten very far last start. Likely improver second-up and over more ground. ALBERT THE CAT (1) was a strong winner two starts back when first up before finishing down the track in a tougher race last start. From an astute yard, back in grade and suited here over more ground. PAY THE DEELER (9) doesn't win too often but is a consistent type. One for the exotics.
SELECTIONS: Sumdeel to win.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 2 @ 1:55 PM

KLOPP (3) resumes here but the form he showed last campaign was good enough to be right in the mix in a race like this. Had been competing in predominantly provincial grade races and will appreciate the drop in class. Tuned up for this with a handy trial win at this track and looks very hard to toss. DEVIL'S INN (10) only narrowly went down at Grafton last time out and appears to be improving with racing. Looms as the main danger. EVOCATOR (11) is trained on course and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Has to be included. OLYMPIC TIME (5) put in a career-best performance last start with a handy third at Hawkesbury. One for the multiples. CURIOSO (1) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Klopp to win.

BENALLA: RACE 9 @ 5:00 PM

PEACE PROCESS (8) showed plenty the first preparation and just missed resuming this grade at Swan Hill at the mile. Was just nudged out at the back of the last campaign at this distance and four winners have come out of that. McDougall will push forward and fitter the mare should go close. LIMPET (12) just missed at Kyneton improving again. That stacks up and he gets plenty of weight relief in this grade. Draws well and is a player. WHO'S YOUR PAPY (1) beat Peace Process home at Swan Hill making good improvement. In the premier barn and is a chance at his first middle distance go. AEECEE DAME (7) is a Waller-trained improver who will relish the longer journey. Keeps improving and will be close to peak fitness. JOHNNY BUCCANEER (3) is in good hands and is suited this trip. Gets the blinkers again and the tongue tie first time. In the mix at odds.
SELECTIONS: Peace Process is a solid chance on a tough program.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5 @ 8:00 PM

VAPORIZING (4) won this grade three back and has threatened since in town in stronger than this. Peaks now back to a shorter sprint and can win for the potent Maloney-Gollan linkage. POUPEE (8) resumes and also has a top hoop aboard. The form tailed off at the back of the last campaign but she has plenty of ability and performs fresh. Should be on-song and is a danger if she is. MINT STRIP (6) won the 58 here after a forgive run. In the mix at odds if the rails gate can be managed. FAMILY STAR (5) races at peak fitness and comes back plenty in grade. The first-up Ipswich placing says he has the ability and the speedy galloper will use the handy gate.
SELECTIONS: Backing Vaporizing to win.

CLONCURRY: RACE 3 @ 2:57 PM

MISHANI REBEL (1) brings a string of close up placings in stronger races. Stands out in this despite the weight rise. Go on the head defeat two-back in the Townsville CL3. SIZZLING TOUCH (6) resumes and has shown enough to suggest he can make the quinella if presented ready to go. ROCKETHEAD (7) won easily at Twin Hills before the lip defeat at Richmond. Draws low and can be in the placings again. DIXIE ROUGE (3) resumes and has won 2/5 fresh. He's also in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Mishani Rebel.
