That effort suggested he is looking for the extra 150m of this race and he is a two-time third-up winner so should be reaching his peak.
Andrew Mallyon sticks having won three races on Ligulate and if he can get him into the clear he looks hard to hold out.
The last of the day is an open affair but there is each way value to be had and it could come in the shape of She Za Boss.
The mare was an eye-catcher at this track first up, hitting the line well for a 1.6L third.
She has built a decent record at this course and Robbie Fradd goes back on.
He has a good association with the mare with four wins and three placings from nine rides and the pair can make an impact in this field.
