Brisbane Best: Gold Coast – 8th January 2022

Back-to-back placings since a spell will have Boomnova ready to peak and win at Gold Coast on Saturday.

The Chris Munce-trained mare produced a big jump in the ratings second up when leading and fighting well to go under by a head at Doomben over 1200m.

Boomnova has won at this track before and was successful in her only previous third up attempt so should be hitting her peak.

A good draw should see Boris Thornton find the right spot and prove hard to beat.

Mass Destruction was the horse that beat Boomnova last start and he looks a big chance to go back to back in the last of the day.

Tony Gollan's gelding did a good job on that occasion, racing wide but proving too strong.

He has yet to miss a place third so should be peaking and is suited up in trip having recorded two wins and a placing from three tries at the journey.
