Just the two meetings in Japan on Friday with racing from Nagoya and Kawasaki. We've done the form and previewed our best bets across the cards.
Nagoya Race 5- #3 Silver Peko
This filly can be hit-and-miss but if she brings her best she should be taking care of these. She's now had five starts for Kazuo Fujigasaki and three of them have been good wins, with two awful runs in between where she was beaten out of sight. Still, if we go off her last run where she ran along in front and extended to win by 4 lengths, she should simply be too good for her rivals, who have around 3 lengths to make up at their best. Likely to be in the red, but should be winning.
Nagoya Race 12- #7 Dance In The Snow
Waiting until the last for our second bet at Nagoya with Dance In The Snow knocking on the door of a fifth career win, having run four strong races since winning in October. In all but one of those four runs he's actually run a better rating than his last win, including last start when finishing a close up third at Kanazawa, sitting just off a strong pace and sticking on gamely to be beaten 1.2 lengths. He just needs to hold that form to be winning here and I'm expecting we get a generous price given his starting price profile.
Kawasaki Race 9- #7 Wipe Out
Only a small field here but I like Wipe Out to go back-to-back after recording a strong win last start here over 1500m and improving on his already impressive record, taking it to 10 wins from 16 starts. He's been a model of consistency since coming to the Hayashi stable and surprisingly goes around at very backable odds most starts, including $4.7, $4.3 and $2.7 at his past three starts, two of which he's won. This is a handy race with #3 Ace Striker boasting some competitive ratings but I see no reason why Wipe Out can't just continue on his winning ways.
Kawasaki Race 11- #1 Mad Sherry
Interesting race over the 900m dash here with two main chances. I'm with Mad Sherry who boasts a more consistent profile having run basically the same rating at her past three starts, winning two and just finding one narrowly better last start. That was in a stronger A1 class of race and she did well, having won comfortably in this class prior. This is an open race and I'd be surprised if anything was too heavily favoured by the market, with #2 Un Grain posting the best last start rating. That was a big new peak however and her form prior was just fair so she may regress, whereas Mad Sherry turns up and runs her honest race which is good enough to win.
