Racing in Japan

Four tracks to bet at in Japan today with racing from Kanazawa, Kawasaki, Mizusawa and Sonoda. We've done the form and picked out a best bet from each.

Kanazawa Race 5- #8 Miihi Dancer

Looks a race in two but I'm keen to be with Miihi Dancer who has just had 13 starts and is racing very well. Both runs back from a spell have been good, finishing second by just a head on each occasion. She was sent around as a $6.40 chance last start here over 1400m and kept coming to just miss so the extra 100m will pose no issue and I think she can hold that level and be highly competitive. #4 Whistle Bait is a big chance of starting favourite having gone around at $3.70 last start, well beaten in tricky conditions first up. There isn't much between the pair at their best but Whistle Bait has won on wet ground before so I'm not sure there's much to forgive last time and Miihi Dancer is in better form.

Kawasaki Race 4- #3 Mai Kagura

Interesting scenario here because Mai Kagura makes plenty of appeal from just two starts, winning on debut over 900m before a spell, coming back to start $39 over 1400m first up. She outran her price by some way there, leading for most of the race before going down by half a length in second. She ticked the 1400m box there and given her profile I'd expect she improves with that run under the belt now. We may get an inflated price due to her odds last time out but I think she's the one to beat.

Mizusawa Race 7- #4 Strong Force

This progressive four-year-old should prove very hard to beat. He's won five from fifteen and resumed with a solid third, beaten 4 lengths at this track and distance. That was within a couple of lengths of his best form that saw him win five out of six starts for the Sugawara stable and if he continues on that path he should be too good for these. He's at his best when able to lead and drawn well I expect him to find the front against a few horses that would be competitive at their best but are struggling for form. The main danger might be #9 Anancus if he could find his best but off their recent form, Strong Force should be winning.

Sonoda Race 11- #2 Bow Chaser

Handy race and tipping Bow Chaser goes very close. He bounced back from an uncharacteristically poor showing two back at Kasamatsu to win will at Himeji last start, winning by 2.5 lengths over 1500m. That makes it three wins from his past four starts and all have rated highly, two here at Sonoda over 1400m and 1700m. Drawn well, he should find the front and in the form he's in, they'll find it tough to catch him. #8 Thorough Conan is the main danger and rates well but is coming through weaker form than Bow Chaser and will have his work cut out to chase him down.
