Apprentice Sophie Logan got things off to a good start when she rode Madam Furphy to a win in the 1000 metre opening race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Being under the care of Gawler trainer Darren Magro Madam Furphy  led all the way to open her winning account at her third start.

Star apprentice Jacob Opperman opened his winning account when the three-year-old filly Royal Obsession won her first race at her second start in the 1000 metre second race.

Prepared at Geelong by the father and son team of Leon and Troy Corstens Royal Obsession was resuming from a spell and led all the way.

Jacob Opperman brought up the second leg of a running double when he steered Jaguary to success in the 1550 metre third race.

Prepared by Travis Doudle and bringing up his second successive win Jaguary came from fourth with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Jacob Opperman brought up a perfect hat-trick when Icecrusher took out the 1350 metre fourth race.

Shayne Cahill trained Icecrusher came from last with a strong run over the concluding stages to bring up his eighth win from thirty-eight starts.

The three-year-old gelding Imperial Hilton landed a straight quartet of wins for apprentice Jacob Opperman in the 1250 metre fifth race.

Being under the care of Plumpton trainer Patrick Payne, Imperial Hilton was well placed in bringing up successive wins.

Jockey Kayla Crowther broke the Opperman spell when she guided Hills to victory in the 1000 metre sixth race.

Coming out of the Morphettville stable of Will Clarken Hills  came from a midfield position with a strong run late in the race.

After resting in the jockey's room Jacob Opperman brought up his fifth winner for the day when Greetings Ned took out the 1300 metre seventh event.

Trained by Dennis O'Leary at Strathalbyn, Greetings Ned charged home from a rearward position.

Trainer Travis Doudle landed his second winner for the day when Not Usual Glorious took out the 1950 metre eighth race.

Having the services of Paul Gatt, Not Usual Glorious raced on the pace throughout to bring up his second win in succession.

Queensland based apprentice Madeline Wishart opened her SA campaign with a win when she guided Midnight Storm to victory in the 1250 metre final event.

Coming out of the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas stable Midnight Storm led all the way to bring up successive wins.
