Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes, October 12 - Caulfield

3 minute read

Missy Longstocking produced an excellent performance at her Melbourne debut to outline her Coolmore Stud Stakes ambitions.

The highly consistent Queensland filly Missy Longstocking made it eight wins from 11 starts, easily winning at her first interstate outing.

Damian Browne eased her across to settle sixth, one off the rails, travelling well. She moved up nicely three wide from the 600m, took the lead at the 200m and then raced away for a comfortable three lengths win.

Anatina had a good run third one off the rails before improving wide rounding the home turn. She challenged at the 250m and then kept fighting on nicely for second, but had no chance with the winner in the final stages.

Bulbula was eased from her wide barrier (9) in the ten-horse field and settled second last. She commenced a wide run from the 600m to be in a challenging position nearing the 200m. She then kept battling on for a sound third.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Comic Endeavour raced a bit keenly in fifth place, one off the rails. She was held up between runners at the turn but got through to fourth at the 200m and then held that position to the post.
