Artistry was seventh, between runners, before switched into clear running (under riding) at the 300m. She was in a challenging position at the 100m and rallied well late, running on for a sound second.

Jessy Belle had a nice position in third place on the rails from her good barrier (3) before challenging at the home turn. She took the lead at the 400m and kept battling on well to hold the minor placing.

The favourite Ghisoni missed the start, was second last in the 13-horse field in the early stages before improving to be eighth, wide out, at the home turn. She then steadily made ground, without looking dangerous, to finish a disappointing (2.3 lengths) fifth.
