Ninth Legion followed up his good win in the Eye Liner Stakes (Listed, 1350m) at Ipswich on 18 June to take out another stakes race in good style. He worked across to race outside the leader (Oxford Poet), got the better of that runner and went to the front at the 300m and then fought well under his top weight (59kg) to score a smart win.

Better Not Blue raced in seventh place, one off the rails, behind a good tempo before improving rounding the home turn. He then put in a strong run, coming with a late bid for a late-closing second.

Vergara had a nice trip from her good barrier (5) racing in third place on the rails. She then battled on well, in restricted room for a good third.

Snippets Land was a handy fourth (between runners), looked a threat at the 200m and then fought on for (1.3 lengths) fourth while the favourite Oxford Poet led until the 300m and fought on for (1.4 lengths) fifth.
