Durable nine-year-old gelding Destiny’s Kiss again showed his liking for affected going in taking this race out in solid fashion. He travelled well in fourth place (one out and one back) from the 1400m, was under riding when the tempo increased at the 600m, responded from the 200m after looking beaten, he came with a late finish and out-stayed his rivals under his 60kg top weight.

The favourite Alward had a nice trip in second place, took the lead and looked the winner at the 300m, was still in front at the 100m but could not hold off the resolute winner (who conceded him 7kg) to take second.

Admiral Jello raced in third place most of the way and kept plugging on soundly in the straight to just take the minor placing from Social Element who led the field until the 300m before holding on for (1.3 lengths) fourth.
