2018 Sky Tatt’s Recognition Stks Listed November 24 - Doomben

3 minute read

Niccanova wins 2018 Sky Tatt’s Recognition Stks Listed $125,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1350m.

Ultra-consistent performer Niccanova squeezed through along the fence to bag win seven and second stakes from 12 starts in a determined effort here. After a fair beginning he settled fourth behind the pace at the 1000m. Rider James Orman pushed him closer to the leader just before straightening, waiting for a split.

He moved away from the rail into traffic so had to switch back to the inside then somehow squeezed through a very narrow gap at the 200m. Seeing daylight, Orman drove him to co-lead at the 100m then edged clear near the line for a determined win.

From midfield and wide Coldstone turned in four wide, challenged at the 300m, led or co-led from the 200m to the 50m but was outgunned late. Sold For Song , well back turning in, never saw space until very late then burst through for an unlucky third. Prioritise was wide turning in and had his chance but could only battle into fourth.
