Morphettville Races Review - 14th December 2018

Hoop- Todd Pannell continued his good run when Good Idea won the opening event of 2014 metres at Morphettville on Friday.

Being under the care of Phillip Stokes and coming off a last start sixth Good Idea was well placed throughout the event.

After putting in a good trial performance Poet’s Landing opened his winning account at his first start in the 1050 metre second race.

Piloted by Jamie Kah and being under the care of Will Clarken Poet’s Landing came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The big crowd were treated to an exciting finish which saw Yulong Star defeat her stable mate Vietti in the 1050 metre third race.

Having the services of apprentice Chris Caserta and trained by Tony McEvoy Yulong Star came from a better than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Trainer tony McEvoy brought up the second leg of a running double when String Theory won the 1600 metre fourth race.

Bringing up a double for Jamie Kah and coming from barrier 14 Spring theory came from a midfield position with a strong run from the top of the straight to win.

Having its second start after a spell the three year old gelding Pierro’s Promise presented his trainer John Hyam with a win in the 1200 metre sixth race.

Ridden by the in-form hoop Jake Toeroek, Pierro’s Promise was well positioned throughout the event.

Jason Holder landed his third winner in two days when he rode Danger Deal to victory in the 1200 metre sixth race.

Being under the care of co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas Danger Deal continued the trend of well placed runners to win.

Apprentice Alfred Chan continued to impress race goers when he was successful in winning on Miss Labelle in the 1050 metre seventh race.

Trained on the course by Jon O’Connor and coming off a last start fourth Miss Labelle was well placed in bringing up win number three from thirteen starts.

Sairyn Fawke continued his good run of late when he won on Right and Ready in the final event of 1600 metres.

Trained at Murray Bridge by John Hickmott Right and Ready came from a rearward position with a withering run late in the event.
