Alizee wins Christmas Classic Listed $150,000 at Randwick, 1200m.

Fresh up after 37 weeks, dual Group 1 winner and carrying 60.5kg, Alizee made short work of things here, easing down for another impressive win, her sixth in 15 starts. Rider Hugh Bowman bounced her out quickly but soon allowed to her to drift, settling second last, one out.

Bowman urged her forward from the 700m and nearing the straight entrance three wide she was ready to pounce. She swept up to be a half length back at the 300m then lengthened her stride past the 200m to stroll to the front. Bowman sat like a mouse and she coasted to the line still a length and a half clear.

From fourth last (rails) at the 600m Husson Eagle was blocked for a run until the 300m, eventually found room, pulled wide at the 200m then rattled home for a nice second.

Fell Swoop led them in, was caught at the 200m then held on quite well for third. Le Cordon Bleu kept up a solid run from last turning in but peaked the last 50m to hold a fourth.
