Mr Motown wins Scenic Blast Stakes Listed $100,000 at Ascot,1200m.

In a surprise result the Lindsey Smith-trained gelding Mr Motown ,at odds of $91, scored a first-up win in a photo finish. He settled in sixth place, behind a quick tempo, commenced his move nearing the home turn, challenged at the 100m and fought on gamely to win by a nose.

First Among Equals raced in eighth place, on the rails, switched deeper and into clear running at the home turn and then came with a strong late finish for second, failing by the narrowest of margins.

Gee Boss was a handy fourth from his good barrier (2), challenged at the 200m and kept fighting well for third. The favourite Misty Metal tracked the speedy leader (Belter) at a quick pace, briefly looked dangerous at the 200m before weakening over the closing stages for (3.8 lengths) seventh.
