Li’l Kontra scored her first black type win when she took out the listed Dequetteville Stakes which was run over 1050 metres.

Being under the care of Ryan Balfour and having the services of Melbourne apprentice Jye McNeil Li’l Kontra settled well and maintained a forward position to bring up her second win from seven starts.

Racing first up after a spell Gytrash took out the 1050 metre second race.

Prepared by Gordon Richards and piloted to victory by Dom Tourneur Gytrash came from a midfield position and finished off the race in fine style.

South African born hoop Barend Vorster kept his strike rate in order since joining the Tony McEvoy stable when he guided Scottish Rogue to a win in the 1200 metre third race.

Prepared by Tony McEvoy at his Angaston property Scottish Rogue was well placed and went to the post in stylish fashion.

Mornington based mentor Anthony Freedman maintained his good strike rate in Adelaide when his charge A Shin Rook took out the 1600 metre fourth race.

Guided to victory by James Winks, A Shin Rook came from a better than midfield position with a strong run in the straight.

Trainer tony McEvoy and hoop Barend Vorster landed their second winner for the afternoon when Classic Weiwei took out the listed Port Adelaide Guineas which was contested over 180-0 metres.

Bringing up a trio of wins Classic Weiwei made it his third win from four starts when he came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

Resuming from a spell Hard Empire gave Richard and Chantelle Jolly their biggest thrill since becoming a partnership when the gelding won the R N Irwin Stakes over 1100 metres.

Guided to victory by Jake Toeroek, Hard Empire was well placed throughout the Group 3 event.

Mirette returned to form when she took out the Schweppervescence Stakes which was run over 1800 metres.

Being under the care of Archie Alexander at Ballarat and guided to victory by Declan Bates Mirette was well placed and registered her fourth win from eleven starts.

Coming off a last start fourth Humma Humma was too strong for his rivals when he took out the listed Redelva Stakes which was run over 1100 metres.

Coming out of the Mornington stable John McArdle and having the services of Beau Mertens, Humma Humma was well placed.
