Morphettville Races Review - 27th April 2019

Although just a visit to Adelaide it was a welcome back to Jamie Kah when she guided Kooweerup to a win in the 1200 metre Breeder’s Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday.

Coming out of the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable Kooweerup brought up successive wins when the filly came around the field on the home turn going on to record a comfortable win.

Showing a liking for the Parks circuit Equal Love lived up to her previous race form when she won the 1000 metre second race.

Having the services of apprentice Kayla Crowther and mentored by Phillip Stokes Equal Love was throughout the event.

Punters were kept on their toes when Vinland put in a late dive to take out the 1400 metre third race.

Prepared by Tony McEvoy and guided to victory by Raquel Clark Vinland came from well back to bring up win number four from fifteen starts.

Versatile hoop Clayton Douglas added another winner to his tally when Artie Dee Two took out the 1300 metre fourth race.

Mentored by Mitchell Freedman at  Ballarat, Artie Dee Two settled near the rear of the field before improving to a handy position, going on to win.

 Hoop Jamie Kah landed her second winner for the afternoon when Gytrash picked up the 1000 metre sixth race.

Prepared by Gordon Richards, Gytrash was well placed throughout the event.

Jamie Kah brought up a trio of wins and a race to race double when Hussy Bay took out the listed City of Adelaide Handicap which was run over 1400 metres.

Prepared at Murray Bridge by Mick Huxtable Hussy Bay came from a midfield position after being held up but run on strongly late in the event.

Raquel Clark brought up her second win for the afternoon when she joined forces with trainer Tony McEvoy in the win of East Indiaman who led all the way to win the 1400 meter listed H C Nitschke Stakes.

Clayton Douglas rounded off a good day when he brought up a double on Declarationofheart in the 2032 metre Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes.

Trained at Flemington by Anthony Freedman Declarationofheart came from a worse than midfield position to bring up his third win from ten starts.
