Patrons were treated to a magnificent sight when five of the six runners in the hurdle jumped the last obstacle almost as one before Beyond Thankful won the in the 3200 metre opening race.

Being under the care of Cranbourne trainer Eric Musgrove and ridden by Nathan Newton the first winner for the jumps season Beyond thankful came from last late in the event.

Apprentice Gary Lo landed his first city winner when he guided God’s Penny to a win in the 1000 metre second race.

Trained by Lo’s master Phillip Stokes God’s Penny led all the way.

Caitlin Jones continued her good run when she rode Bold Star to victory in the 1000 metre third race.

After finishing second at his previous start on the Parks circuit the Gordon Richards prepared Bold Star came with a late searching run to register his second win from eight starts.

Lostarc proved himself to be a consistent galloper when he took out the 2400 metre fourth race.

Coming out of the Ryan Balfour stable and steered to victory by Paul Gatt Lostarc was well placed.

Bel Sonic atoned for his last start fifth at Flemington when he won the 1250 metre fifth race.

Trained at Mornington by Jason Warren a d guided to victory by Todd Pannell Bel Sonic was well placed.

Todd Pannell brought up a race to race double when he guided Yulong Patrol to a win in the 1550 metre sixth race.

Prepared at Caulfield by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Yulong Patrol came from a midfield position to win.

Waging War broke a long run of outs when he took out the 1550 metre seventh race.

Having the services of Jason Holder the Macdonald Gluyas prepared Waging War came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The grey Pale Ale made it six wins from forty starts when he took out the 1250 metre eighth race.

Prepared by Danielle Wilson and having the services of apprentice Eran Boyd Pale Ale was another winner to be well placed.

Murray Bridge based mentor Michael Hickmott joined forces with hoop Shayne Cahill when the well placed Going Gaga won the 1400 metre final event.
