Valour Road wins H G Bolton Sprint Listed $100,000 at Belmont Park, 1200m.

Bouncing back from a worthwhile Group 1 sixth at Morphettville last month, hot favourite Valour Road proved too good here to record his fourth stakes and fifth career win in just ten starts.

He won the start then eased to second (rails) and held his position past the 600m and into the straight. Going forward to share the lead he took a few strides to wind up, had a tussel to the 100m but came away over the last 50m to win well.

Lockroy was fourth (rails) past the 600m, challenged to share the lead upon straightening and gave the winner a fight to the 100m but couldn’t keep up.

Floyd ,who blew the start, finished well along the fence to grab third from Electric Light who finished fast down the outer but much too late.
