Mystery Miss wins Belmont Oaks Listed $100,000 at Belmont Park, 2000m.

Mystery Miss ambled out of the stalls to sit third last with a lap to run but past the 1600m jockey William Pike eased her away from the fence.

Still third last at the 1200m and at the 800m Pike waited until inside the 600m to make a forward move, pulled four wide turning in then cruised up to take the lead at the 200m.

Pike kept her honest to the line but she had too many guns, out by two and half lengths to make it five wins from eight starts including three stakes – two in succession.

Cockatiel was fifth at the 1000m, followed the winner into the straight and stayed on quite well without endangering the winner to claim second.

Ping Me Another led at the 600m, carted them in and tried to slip clear, was collared at the 200m then held on for third from Forgotten Star who got going too late, finishing on for fourth.
