Silvera was saved for the last run and came away late to nab win eight (second stakes) and the last start Rockhampton Cup winner took his earnings to $441,645. He broke from the stalls well but soon drifted to settle fifth (one out), lost a spot at the 800m then moved up three wide to be in a challenging position at the top of the straight.

In the middle of the track he ranged up and was one five chances at the 200m then took control at the 100m and was too strong to the line by a comfortable length.

Araaja was back of midfield (rails) from the 800m, got away from the fence turning in to track the winner, tried hard over the last 200m but had to settle for second.

Magnufighter sat a handy third turning in, was one of five chances at the 200m but was outfinished while Hectopascal finished well along the inner to grab fourth.
