Morphettville Races Review - 17th August 2019

3 minute read

Jockey Harry Coffey was quickly in winning mode when he guided Dalswinton to a win in the 1600 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Coming out of the Hayes, Hayes and Dabernig stable at Flemington Dalswinton was always well placed.

Apprentice Georgina Cartwright continued her early season form when she steered Jaguary to a win in the 2028 metre second race.

Prepared on the Morphettville course by Travis Doudle Jaguary made it two wins in succession when he led all the way.

Georgina Cartwright succeeded in bringing up a running double when she guided Vieira to a win in the 1200 metre third race.

Being under the care of trainer Leah Conlon Vieira came with a strong run late in the event to run down the early leader Tequila Time.

Resuming from a spell Aten continued the good run of hoop Barend Vorster and trainer Tony McEvoy when the filly led all the way to win the 1100 metre fourth race.

Resuming from a spell Experimentation presented trainer Will Clarken with a win in the 1050 metre fifth race.

Having the services of apprentice Kayla Crowther Experimentation led all the way to bring up win number three from eleven starts.

Shop Til I Drop made it a duo of wins when she took out the 1800 metre sixth race.

Giving trainer Tony McEvoy and hoop Barend Vorster the second leg of a double Shop Til I Drop came from near last on the home turn with a withering run very late in the event.

Dalasan maintained a forward position to win the David R Coles AM listed Spring Stakes which was run over 1200 metres.

Coming off two wins and a second the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Raquel Clark ridden Dalasan looks to have a bright future after a convincing win.

Racing second up after a spell the Chris Bieg prepared apprentice Teaghan Voorham ridden Wanted By All led all the way to take out the final event of 1200 metres.
