Funstar only just held on in a thrilling three way go here, adding win three (her maiden stakes) in four career starts. She was second early but dropped into third at the 1000m.

Moving out three wide from the 600m she was one of three in line at the top of the straight, still right there at the 200m and grabbed a narrow lead inside the 100m then held on gallantly to the line but by the barest of margins.

Probabeel put in a mighty finish after being slow away and third last (rails) at the 600m. She was pocketed to the 250m, got out at the 200m then went after the leaders, flying at the finish but a nose short yet in front a stride past the post.

Favourite Libertini sat second from the 600m, was one of three leaders at the 400m, led narrowly to the 100m, was caught but never gave in, a short head back in third. The first three were clear of the rest with Emeralds running on for fourth from second last at the 400m.
