The Godolphin-raced Trekking, winner of the Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1400m) in June, received a start in next week's The Everest (1200m) with a smart win here.

He raced in seventh place on the rails, tracked through nicely closer to the rails at the home turn, hit the front at the 100m and battled strongly to score a good win.

Ball Of Muscle showed his customary pace and travelled outside of the leader (Dispatch), went to the front on straightening and then battled gamely for (long neck) second.

The Bostonian had a nice trip in fifth place on the rails. He got through on the inner rounding the home turn, challenged at the 200m and then battled on strongly for a close-up third at his second run back.

Viridine raced in second last place in the nine-horse field, improved between runners on turning for home and then kept making ground for (1.4 lengths) fourth.

Bons Away raced in last place, improved along the rails at the home turn and then battling on for fifth, beaten just over two lengths.
