Taking improvement from a gritty second at Listed level first start back from the Golden Slipper, Cosmic Force led almost the entire journey here and held tough for career win three (second stakes) at start seven.

He was brilliantly away to lead early but was given a breather past the 800m. Rounding into the home straight he still led narrowly, was caught then headed briefly at the 300 but fought back hard.

From the 200m he found more and went to the line full of running for a nice win by a length and a quarter.

Standout drifted to fifth (of seven) at the 800m, went widest turning in and kept up a strong challenge but could not catch the winner.

Microphone sat a handy third turning into the home straight but couldn't accelerate when needed, lunging into third just short of the line.

Dirty Work caught the winner at the 300m but was caught late, weakening to fourth.
