Kemalpasa wins Romeo’s Durbridge Stakes Listed, $100,000 at Morphettville, 1200m.

Ultra consistent in his last ten starts Kemalpasa made his first attempt at stakes class a winning one and added an eighth win in 21 starts.

He settled worse than midfield, two out early but was able to edge a lane closer to the fence starting the bend.

Rounding into the home straight in behind the leaders, he moved wider, took a while to wind up then powered home in the middle of the track to grab the lead at the 100m and was going best at the line by a length.

In a good line up for the minors Casino Wizard challenged at the top of the straight, co-led just short of the 100m then held on gamely for second.

Arrow Lane was third turning in and kept on gamely in tight quarters all the way to the line for third while Karlovasi, who led them in, never gave in for a close fourth.
