California Zimbol was impressive in winning here, her third win in five starts and her first at stakes level. She was smartly away and settled nicely outside the leader (Zoupino) traveling at a reasonable tempo before going to the front at the 600m. She grabbed a break nearing the 200m and then went on to score decisively. The favourite Loving Gaby began well from barrier seven and was third and deep early on, racing a bit keenly. She joined the leader (California Zimbol) at the 600m but was under pressure at the 200m and then held on quite well for second. Don'ttelltheboss settled in second last place in the eight-horse field, moved up deep at the home turn and kept running on well for third, staging a really promising effort. Athiri settled just behind midfield and deep from her outside barrier before improving (wide) from the 600m. She then held on quite well for fourth after a difficult trip.
