In a keenly contested finish with the first four horses finishing less than a length apart, Oceanex scored her fourth win and her first at stakes level. She raced in sixth place, on the rails, tracking a steady tempo, before improving behind runners at the turn. She got a split at the 300m and then finished well to win nicely by a half-length. Miss Siska settled in third place, one off the rails, before moving up (three wide) at the home turn. She got to a narrow lead at the 200m and then battled on well for second, narrowly in advance of Aristocratic Miss who ran on well from eighth at the home turn for third with Greysful Glamour (0.7 lengths) fourth after being handily placed all the way. The favourite Girl Tuesday was eased from a wide barrier, settled in last place but saved ground along the inner at the turn before battling on in the straight for (2.1 lengths) seventh.
