Massimo wins Tabtouch-Placid Ark Stakes, Listed $100,000 at Ascot, 1200m.

Three in a row, four from six and scoring his maiden stakes success, Massimo came back when he looked under pressure at the top of the straight to win well.

He was second into stride and sat just back and outside the pace to the the 350m.

Turning in he seemed flat, lost his position then recovered, challenged for the lead and after a short tussle to the 100m kept on gamely for the short neck win.

Laverrod sat fifth in the clear at the 600m, moved forward sharply turning in and continued on to co-lead at the 200m. He fought the winner to the 50m but had to settle for second.

Niccovi was back on the fence at the 600m, did not get out until the 200m then finished quite well for third.

Boomtastic, mostly third on the rails did not get a look until the 200m and pulled wider when the race was practically over to grab fourth.
