Chains Of Honour wins Mullins Grand Prix Stakes, Group 3, $250,000 at Eagle Farm, 2206m.

The Gerald Ryan-trained three-year-old Chains Of Honour looks a very promising young stayer after advancing in class to win this Group 3 feature and take his record to three wins from four starts.

After settling in eighth place, Mark Zahra elected to make an early (wide) move due to the moderate pace and he took the gelding to the front nearing the 1200 metres mark. He then travelled well before ducking out suddenly nearing the 200 metres, Zahra then straightened him and he drew away to score impressively by two and half lengths.

The Mark Newnhamtrained Mission Phoenix ,also progressing from lower grades, did well in finishing second when having only his fourth start. He settled nicely in second place, outside the leader, and continued to fight on well in the straight to hold second in a solid staying effort.

Mosshiki raced in fifth place, one off the rails, improved rounding the home turn and then kept battling on well to hold third, just in front of Smart Meteor who steadily made ground from near tail of the field to finish (3.9 lengths) fourth.
