Mandela Effect wins Kevin Sharkie Tasmanian Stakes, Listed, $100,000 at Launceston, 1600m.
The consistent Scott Brunton-trained gelding Mandela Effect is now the winner of 10 of his 21 starts (with six placings) after scoring a smart win here, his first success at stakes level.
He enjoyed a good trip in third place on the rails, got a split rounding the home turn and finished too well over the closing stages for a soft win at the post.
His stablemate Hellova Street went to the front as expected and then fought gamely when challenged at the home turn for second after running a bold race.
Zatacla travelled nicely in fourth place, one out and one back, before moving up approaching the home turn. He challenged on straightening and then battled very well for a close-up third.
