The winner in a very tight finish was Lightning Jack that came from seventh the outer and got up on the post. The winners and where they turned for home in race order were second (one-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), second (five-off the inside and a neck from the leader), third (three-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), third (one-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), second (two-off the inside and half a length from the leader), co-leader (one-off the inside), third (one-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), seventh (six-off the inside and four lengths from the leader) and fourth (one-off the inside and four lengths from the leader). Lightning Jack came with such a rush that his victory was only assured on the line for his second win, as he had won his maiden prior well at Riverton. Today was his second success in seven outings and his first at Stakes level with the Listed win. Second and caught on the post was Live Drama that had raced handy the inner and led at the 150m only to be caught on the post. Bronte Beach came with a big run from the back of the field to grab third near the line after still being sixth with 100m to travel. Fourth home was Tears Of An Angel that had raced sixth and reached fourth the home turn before moving into third at the 150m only to lose that placing late. Sanctify ran on from well back at the 1000m having gone from tenth to sixth from the 1000m to the 600m and had actually reached fourth at the 100m. Charlie Awesome ran on late from being last at the 600m and is an improver. El Gladiador was noticed running on from tenth turning for home while Miss Federer raced on the pace but cracked quickly the final 150m. Hot Tap plugged on while All About Magic covered the world fifth in the running and paid the price. The rest stopped or dropped out and were very disappointing.
