Morphettville Races Review - 15th February 2020

The two-year-old filly My Ruby could have a bright future ahead of her after making it two victories in succession in the 1100 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Being under the care of trainers Wayne Francis and Glen Kent and ridden by Justin Potter My Ruby led all the way.

Jockey Jason Holder continued his good run when he rode Seemingly Discreet to a win in the 1200 metre second race.

Prepared by Phillip Stokes and a last start winner at Gawler Seemingly Discreet was well placed.

After running a solid second on the provincial track of Gawler at its previous start Ballast was a good winner of the 1600 metre third race.

Having the services of apprentice Sophie Logan and being under the care of Kevin and Jordan Frew, Ballast was in the first two throughout the event.

The four-year-old gelding continued the run of last start winners when he took out the 2043 metre fourth race.

Coming out of the Horsham stable of Paul Preusker the Declan Bates ridden Dark Alley came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages to bring up his second win from five starts.

Trainer Phillip stokes brought up a double when Shamino took out the 1100 metre fifth race.

Guided to victory by Stokes' apprentice Gary Lo, Shamino made it four wins in succession when he came from a midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

Racing consistently Regalo Di Gaetano broke through for a win when he took out the 1600 metre sixth race in a head bobbing finish.

Coming out of the Richard and Neindorf Regalo Di Gaetano came from a near last position with a strong run over the last 100 metres.

One More Jack continued the strike rate of last start winners when he took out the 1200 metre seventh race.

Bringing up a double for jockey Justin Potter the Shane Oxlade prepared One More Jack was an all the way winner.

Murray Bridge trainer Rob Wilkinson was delighted with the win of his charge Master Chum in the 2043 metre listed Birthday Cup.

Binging up four consecutive wins and giving Erin Boyd one of the biggest wins of her riding career Master Chum came from the rear of the field with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Veteran trainer Ken Sweeney was well pleased with the win of his charge Rizski in the 1050 metre final event.

Enlisting the services of jockey Todd Pannell, Rizski came from a midfield position to bring up win number three from twenty-four starts.
