Race 1: Mong Kok Handicap (2nd Section)

#9 Super Winner struggled in his first-up assignment down the Sha Tin straight, however, prior to this he scored impressively in a recent barrier trial on the dirt. He returns to that surface here and although his form is mixed, he does have some ability and in a small contest such as this, he just might be able to roll forward and pinch this. #3 Dollar Reward won back-to-back contests over this course and distance last term, including a first-up breakthrough success. #7 Super Kin caught the eye in a recent barrier trial and steps out here for his first-up assignment. Strong booking of Zac Purton warrants respect. #5 Handsome Rebel is the likely leader. He'll play catch me if you can from the draw under Karis Teetan.

Race 2: Yau Ma Tei Handicap (2nd Section)

#4 Bundle Of Energy is unlucky not to already be a winner and if he does manage to bring his best this Sunday, then he shapes as the one to beat, especially with Zac Purton taking the reins. #5 Galaxy Emperor has taken his time to acclimatise but based on a recent trial at Conghua, he just might be ready to piece it all together. #7 Fire And Gold really hit his straps at the end of last season and if he's held his condition from this, then he is going to be challenging this bunch. #11 Bravery And Power has had the benefit of the one run already which should hold him in good stead for this, especially as trainer Chris So bagged a double on Wednesday night at Happy Valley.  

Race 3: Mong Kok Handicap (1st Section)

#6 Star Present steps out for new trainer David Hayes who already has two wins from the first two race meetings. He caught the eye in a recent trial on the dirt, making all impressively and if he tries similar again here, he just might be able to catch a few of these flat footed. #2 Fortune Happiness tallied a hat-trick of wins at his first three starts last term. He's got up in the ratings which is a slight concern, however still, he does warrant respect. #1 Eight Trigrams got off the mark nicely last time out. He gets a handy 10 pound claim from apprentice Jerry Chau which helps but this isn't an easy contest as the wide gate makes life very difficult for him. #3 Super Alliances is next best with a course and distance win under his belt already.

Race 4: Yau Ma Tei Handicap (1st Section)

#4 Soccer Master is looking for his third consecutive win and in his favour is that remains in Class 5 for his hat-trick bid. He's racing well and off his latest trial it appears as though he's ready to continue his ascent up the ratings with another win here. #6 Shinealot is winless. He's racing well albeit without winning and he's capable of boxing on once again. #2 Adonis has had the benefit of having one run already this campaign. He grabbed third that day and with race-fitness on his side, he is expected to run a bold race. #7 Galaxy Racer gets the services of Joao Moreira. He can figure with the right run.

Race 5: Tsim Sha Tsui Handicap

#6 Apex Top moved well in his latest trial on the grass at Sha Tin, crossing the line alongside Moneymore who won first-up at Sha Tin's season-opening fixture. He's first-up over a mile which suggests that he is forward in his training and with the good draw, he can test this lot. #3 Regency Master is looking for back-to-back wins. He's drawn to get the right run under Zac Purton which should see him get every chance if he is good enough to win. #8 Family Leader is consistent of late with two runner-up efforts from his last three tries. He's worth including. #9 Wonder Express slots in light with only 119 pounds. He's another who is favoured by the draw.

Race 6: Tai Kok Tsui Handicap

#1 Sonic Fighter steps down to Class 4 after largely struggling in Class 3 at the back-end of last season. Zac Purton hops on now fresh off a four-timer at Happy Valley and this contest appears more than suitable for the Paul O'Sullivan-trained galloper down in grade. #2 King's Race made all impressively early on last season and from the good gate, he gets an excellent chance to try and do the same again. #12 Bulletproof has slipped to a competitive mark. He gets a nice draw and with no weight on his back, he bears close watching. #6 Gallant Crown rattled into second last start, turning his form around in the process following two mediocre finishes. He can figure from gate two with French ace Antoine Hamelin up. 

Race 7: Jordan Handicap

#7 Enshrined turned his form around to grab a close-up second last time out over this course and distance. He slots in light with no weight on his back and from the good draw with a positive ride, he can take this out. #1 Will Power soared through the handicap last season when shooting from Class 4 to Class 2 in seven runs. He deserves respect, although, it is a slight concern that he has shown signs of reaching his ceiling in Hong Kong. #2 Elite Patch does his best racing on the dirt. He's consistent and the booking of Zac Purton warrants respect. #3 Silver Fig is a classy customer who is looking for back-to-back wins. He won't be too far away.

Race 8: Hung Hom Handicap

Arguably the most exciting horse on Sunday's programme is #6 Sky Field. The Caspar Fownes-trained galloper returns following a dazzling win at his final appearance of last season and returns in the hope of scoring back-to-back triumphs. He's a talent on the rise and if he manages to replicate a similar turn of foot against this bunch, then this race is his to lose. #9 Moeraki is much better than his form suggests and with a clean run, he can be competitive in this race. He caught the eye at the trials and in Sunday's race, he shapes as an excellent each way chance. He's worth having a small play on both the place and win line and they're more than likely not going to be very big. #1 Inner Flame is looking for his fifth win at just his sixth start. He has the runs on the board but this looks a tough, first-up assignment, even with the quality he possesses. #2 Smart Leader is next best.

Race 9: Ho Man Tin Handicap

#4 Gold Chest scored impressively first-up last term and he profiles to do similar again. He steps out over 1000m this time but his past performances over the distance suggest that it won't be a problem. He was more than impressive in a recent trial on the dirt and with even luck, he is the one to beat. #8 Multimillion loves the course and distance and is another who won at his first run last campaign. He rarely runs a bad race and is going to find himself in the finish against this bunch. #2 Hong Kong Win has crafted an impressive record of 11 top three finishes from 14 starts with four wins to his name. Joao Moreira sticks aboard and this contest looks a suitable starting point for his 2020/21 campaign. #14 Team Spirit has the runs on the board and is capable of being competitive enough here.

Race 10: King's Park Handicap

#13 So We Joy still appears to have a number of ratings points to climb and he can continue his ascent up the handicap here. He was slow away in a recent trial but still, managed to close off nicely and with that under his belt, he does appear forward enough to win the nightcap on Sunday. #2 Star Of Yuen Long crossed the line second in a recent trial. He's a talent who with the inside gate should be able to fight out the finish. He's much better than his record suggests. #12 Chairman Lo mixes his form but on his day he's solid. Suspect he's never going to be better than a Class 3 galloper, so with the lightweight he should be able to finish off. #6 Craig's Star is another who is better than his record suggests. He might be worth a small each way play if he manages to be a big price.
